Staff Product Designer, Benefits

Gusto is seeking a Staff Product Designer to lead design for a new Benefits product offering. You'll design end-to-end service experiences across employer and employee workflows while integrating AI to reduce complexity. WHAT YOU'LL DO • Lead 0→1 discovery and design phases grounded in real workflows • Design AI-assisted decision moments that help customers choose and act with confidence • Create systems ensuring AI safety through defined rules and human guardrails • Build product feedback loops to improve AI quality over time • Design in code using AI-assisted tools for rapid prototyping • Define human-in-the-loop workflows in partnership with cross-functional teams WHO YOU ARE • 8+ years of product design experience with demonstrated end-to-end shipped work • Fluent in designing with AI as a core product material • Experience with service design and complex, multi-step workflows • Strong cross-functional influence and ability to drive strategy • Experience mentoring other designers
