Product Designer II

Optimizely is looking for a Product Designer II to design internal tools and infrastructure interfaces for Opal, their AI platform. You'll create experiences for engineers, product teams, and internal operators — focused on agent configuration, workflow definition, output evaluation, and system monitoring. This role emphasizes technical depth over surface-level UI work. WHAT YOU'LL DO • Design configuration interfaces for agents and workflows — including setup, editing, and versioning • Create evaluation and experimentation surfaces to assess system performance and output quality • Design monitoring tools exposing latency, cost, errors, and usage patterns • Translate technical concepts (models, prompts, pipelines, metrics) into clear UI and language • Produce flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity designs in Figma • Prototype ideas with engineers and refine through real usage • Define system primitives ensuring consistent platform application • Contribute to design patterns for configuration, observability, safety, and control • Conduct usability sessions with internal users and iterate based on feedback WHO YOU ARE • 2–4 years designing digital products, developer tools, or internal platforms • Portfolio demonstrating systems thinking and complex workflow simplification • Experience designing dashboards, configuration tools, or data-heavy interfaces • Technical comfort and strong engineer collaboration skills • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, experimentation platforms, or observability tools • Figma and component-based design proficiency
